There’s a night every month at El Camino that feels different from the rest. Same fire downstairs, same margaritas at the bar, but upstairs in the High Road Room, something else is happening. A welcome drink shows up in your hand before you’ve even sat down. Passed apps start making their way around the table. Somebody’s pouring a spirit you’ve probably never tried before and telling you exactly why it’s worth it. That’s Spirits of the West, our monthly chef’s dinner, and once a month, it’s the best seat in the house.
What It Is
Spirits of the West is four courses, four cocktails, one night, each drink built specifically for the course it’s paired with. The room’s featured spirit changes month to month, so the pairings never taste quite the same twice. Everyone sits together at long shared tables, mariachi plays somewhere in the night, and the room fills up with that easy, everybody’s-talking-to-everybody energy. You lose track of time because the conversation’s good, and each course comes with its own little story behind it.

Spirits of the West lands on First Fridays, right alongside ArtWalk in downtown Corpus Christi. The block’s buzzing, the whole neighborhood’s out, and El Camino’s in the thick of it.
